Welcome! This site will be used to document our learning journey.
I (April) have spent 20 years educating students and 10 of those also coaching teachers and supporting readers across all developmental levels. That changed when we moved to Minnesota. I did a little tutoring, but Covid 19 changed things and I am diving deeper into my journey of learning. I love learning, collaborating with others, and want to explore how we learn through experiences with dollmaking, sewing, and pretty much any other skill or opportunity I can get my hands on. There is much to be said about teaching people to love, embrace, and engage in learning outside of the classroom and to create their own path of learning. Of course, there is core content to learn for our kiddos, but we also need to teach learners of all ages to know themselves and how they learn. We need to cultivate curiosity, appreciating the process, and the art of asking good questions that lead to growth.
John has been working in the corporate world for 30 years. He loves to learn how to maintain our home and learn new skills. He has installed hardwood floors in multiple homes and completed numerous home improvement projects. Now, his projects have expanded into toymaking and creating projects for April.
