Welcome to April's Adorables LOFT! April's Adorables LOFT (Learning Outside Formal Teaching) was born from both my love of creating and education. This blog incorporates all the education I have and will pursue. April's Adorables and Alterations was my original company which took a back burner to formal teaching. Now, that I am no longer teaching formally, it is time to bring it back and into the age of technology with a new spin. I am not 100% sure where it will go, but I am looking forward to the journey.
The History
April's Adorables originally started when my awesome husband, John, and I decided I would stay home to raise our two boys. I made a variety of homemade items including dolls and snowman. Eventually, the boys started school, I started volunteering and to make a long story short I ended up a long term kindergarten substitute teacher. I was passionate about teaching. So, back to school to add a Masters in teaching from the University of Phoenix Online to my Merchandising / Management and Clothing Design Degree from Michigan State University. This was followed by a few moves and landing us in Green Bay, Wisconsin. My love of teaching reading and realizing not all students learn the same lead to more certifications in reading from Viterbo University and Wilson Reading Systems. Since we seem to have the inability to stay put, I am now in Minnesota and not planning to pursue a teaching license in a third state. Thus, April's Adorables LOFT, my first passion is renewed and I am really enjoying what can happen in a global world.
